The Gill Foundation announced today the release of its 2006 annual report. The report is available at www.gillannualreport.org. This year’s report highlights the stories of individuals and organizations doing exemplary collaborative work to advance equality. Additionally, it offers links to each of the grantee’s homepages so that readers may learn more about the groups the Gill Foundation and the Gay & Lesbian Fund are funding. The 2006 report is offered exclusively in a unique online format. The Gill Foundation chose not to print the report in hard form in order to make it more readily available, as well as to minimize the environmental effects of printing.
The Gill Foundation was established in 1994 by software entrepreneur Tim Gill to secure equal opportunity for all people regardless of sexual orientation or gender expression. In 1996 the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado was established as a fund of the Gill Foundation to support nonprofits throughout the state while highlighting the contributions of gay men and lesbians. 2006 designates the year in which the Gill Foundation broke the $100 million mark in investments in organizations throughout the country and has currently invested more than $110 million to advance equality. The Gill Foundation looks forward to continuing to advance equality by encouraging collaborations with individuals and organizations such as those highlighted in this year’s report.
