Building a better Colorado. Together.
At Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado, we believe that our state is a better place to live, work, and play when every person has the opportunity and resources they need to thrive. No matter the color of our skin, the cultural traditions we follow, our sexual orientation, or the religion we subscribe to, we can all agree on what is important in life: safe neighborhoods in thriving communities, healthy and strong families, opportunities that help us all grow and succeed, and a bright future for our children.
We partner with people and strategically invest in nonprofits that share our commitment to a caring and vibrant Colorado. Since 1996, we have awarded more than $27.6 million to hundreds of Colorado organizations that provide basic public services and valuable programs to thousands of people and places across our state.*
We support nonprofit organizations that:
- elevate the arts and cultural events because we love the way film, literature, performances, and community festivals inspire people to think and feel
- strengthen and encourage diverse communities because they flourish when people trust and support one another
- promote the health and wellbeing of families and children because strong communities begin with strong families
- provide public broadcasting because it entertains, informs, and inspires thoughtful discussion
We strive to give much more than money. We invest in Colorado by collaborating with and learning from our grantees, local businesses, nonprofit leaders, and public supporters. We share resources, connect organizations working hard to achieve a similar mission, and educate Colorado on the great work of hundreds of nonprofits.
