Billy Flynn joined the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado in February 2005 as a grants management assistant, providing administrative support to the statewide grantmaking programs. He is responsible for providing customer service to grant applicants as well as current grantees.
Billy, who holds an associate degree from Blair College, worked for six years as an administrative assistant at Pikes Peak Fast Food Restaurants, Inc. There and at all his previous jobs, Billy was “out” to his coworkers and business associates, which he says made it possible to increase the awareness of many about gay men and lesbians.
Billy’s passion is the environment, and he has frequently volunteered for Colorado Springs beautification programs, including GreenSprings Plantings and Scale the Scar. Additionally, in the interest of helping to increase awareness of the contributions of gay men and lesbians, he has volunteered for the ACLU at the Colorado Springs Pridefest.
