Our Year
Building a better Colorado, together: 2010
Over the last 15 years, the Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado has invested more than $27.6 million in hundreds of Colorado nonprofits that work to improve lives across this beautiful state we all call home. From communities along the Front Range, to Grand Junction, Alamosa, Greeley, and Cortez, we are proud of the collaborations we have formed with people and organizations who share our commitment to building a better Colorado.
In 2010, we invested more than $2.7 million in 227 Colorado nonprofits. Of that total, $714,700 included a Challenge component to encourage new donations and increased support for nonprofits. These fundraising challenges helped hundreds of organizations to raise more than $1.5 million in new donor support—support that we hope will continue for years to come.
We also continued to open our doors to community organizations who needed a place to host meetings and events. Last year alone, 564 events were held in our building’s free space, welcoming more than 16,500 people to downtown Colorado Springs.
And in 2010, we honored seven amazing individuals and organizations who go above and beyond to positively impact lives across Colorado.
We are proud to support and recognize the organizations, grantees, and individuals who are making Colorado a better place to live, for everyone.
